august music recommendations

My music recommendations for August:

I just made this mix about a week ago for tidying up my room and I am loving it! This (for the most part) is my favorite 80s ish music. Let me tell you, I am a sucker for anything Billy Joel. The first song I learned on the piano that I still remember was "Piano Man" and I still play it once in a while. Later on, I learned "Vienna". Both great songs and they hold a lot of memories.

Also, listen to the lyrics on "You Can Call Me Al"--slightly silly but still deep.

Do you have any songs that specifically hold memories for you? What are you listening to this week? Give me some music recommendations!

  1. I love Cheap Trick, that's a classic song. I love 80s songs, too! Some of the cheesy hair metal bands, like White Snake, still make me sing at the top of my lungs. ;)

  4. I think I mentioned the last time I put Cheap Trick in a playlist but I hadn't heard of them until my manager told me about them because her grandmother had dated one of their dads while they were just getting going. How weird, right?!

  7. I think it' sometimes true what they say - older is better. Especially when it comes to this kind of great music!

I have so many memories attached to so many songs, it would take forever to list them all. For me, music is such a powerful tool to convey emotion.

And as for recommendations: I don't know if this kind of music is your thing (or if you've already heard some of her music) But I have listened to Birdy's album throughout the week. I just think her voice is so beautiful! People Help The People is definitely my favourite song off of her album at the moment.

  8. I do like Birdy, although I just don't listen to her very much for whatever reason. I think I'm just jealous of how young + talented she is. Thanks for the recs!
